Lap of Himalayas 7days/6nights (Bagdogra/Kalimpong/Gangtok/Darjeeling)

Day 1  :- Kalimpong: Arrive Bagdogra by flight. Drive to Kalimpong (79 kms / 2.5 hrs). Arrive Kalimpong and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Kalimpong.

Day 2  :- Gangtok: Proceed for a half-day tour of Kalimpong. Visit the Durpin Dara, offering breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga Range and the mighty Teesta river. Visit the Zong Dog Palri Fo Brang Gompa, which was consecrated by Dalai Lama. Also visit the flower and orchid nurseries, and the local market. Evening, drive to Gangtok (77 kms / 2.5 hrs). Arrive Gangtok and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 3  :- Gangtok: Proceed for a full-day tour of Gangtok. Visit Do Drul Chorten, the biggest stupa in Sikkim. Popularly known as Phurba, this holy stupa is girdled with 108 prayer wheels. Also visit the Institue of Tibetology, which houses a collection of rare Sanskrit, Lepcha and Tibetan manuscripts, sculptures and Thankas. In the afternoon, visit the Roomtek monastery and Dharma Chakra Centre, one of the most important sites for every Buddhist. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 4  :- Gangtok: Proceed for a half day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (one way 32 kms / 1.5 hrs). The cool, placid water harmonizes with the scenic beauty around, with the surrounding mountains reflected in the lake. During the winter session the lake becomes frozen. A temple of Lord Shiva is constructed on the edge of the lake. It is very close to the Chinese border. Return to Gangtok. Overnight in Gangtok.

Day 5  :- Darjeeling: Drive to Darjeeling (98 kms / 2.5 hrs). Arrive Darjeeling and check in to your hotel and relax. Proceed for a full-day tour of Darjeeling. Early this morning, make a pre dawn visit to Tiger Hill to watch the sunrise over the Mt Kanchenjunga- a truly enchanting sight. Later, visit the Ghoom Monastery. Visit the Batasia Loop, and enjoy a ride in the toy train over brilliantly engineered looped tracks. Visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, which has successfully bred endangered species like the snow leopard and red panda. Proceed to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute- it offers training in mountain climbing, and maintains a fascinating museum of memorabilia. Visit the Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre. Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 6  :- Darjeeling: Day at leisure. Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 7  :- Onwards: Proceed to New Jalpaiguri (100 kms / 3 hrs) to board the train for your onward destination.
